The serene private farms nestled in the Al-Baha region are fast becoming favored tourist hotspots. One such example is Al-Hazem farm, located in Al-Mandaq Governorate, which has undergone a significant transformation to underscore the area’s distinctive blend of agriculture and tourism opportunities.
Owners have meticulously rejuvenated these farms with a variety of trees and picturesque, rustic cabins, strategically designed to draw in tourists. Othman Al-Zahrani, the proprietor of Al-Hazem farm, initiated its refurbishment in 2022. He revitalized ancient agricultural terraces, introduced a mix of seasonal fruits such as pomegranates and various citrus fruits, and even cultivated coffee, all of which Al-Baha prides itself on.
To elevate visitor experience, Al-Zahrani introduced a range of facilities including quaint cabins for accommodation, versatile meeting spaces, a welcoming café, and a tranquil nature retreat. The retreat features an array of seating options set amidst the splendor of the farm, complete with cascading waterfalls and an abundance of birdlife.
This movement to transform farms into alluring tourist destinations is gaining momentum in Al-Baha. Local farm owners are embracing this trend, converting their properties into showcases of the region’s unique charm. This shift not only promotes tourism but also aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative, marking a step towards sustainable development and environmental preservation.
