Business Jet Flights Surge in Saudi Arabia

Record growth driven by major airports and tourism events

Business jet flights have surged, reaching 23,612 in 2024, a significant increase from 19,000 in 2023. Domestic flights climbed by 26% to 9,206, while international flights rose by 15% to 14,406. This expansion was primarily driven by Saudi Arabia’s major airport hubs.

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah experienced a 30% rise in business jet traffic. Meanwhile, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh saw a 22% increase, and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam reported a 7% growth.

Popular tourism spots like Sindalah, the Red Sea, and Al Ula attracted significant business interest. Additionally, events such as the Future Investment Initiative and the Formula One Grand Prix in Jeddah contributed to the record-breaking growth in jet traffic.

Mohammed Alkhuraisi, executive vice president of strategy and business at GACA, emphasized the importance of a robust business jet sector to support Saudi Arabia’s luxury tourism and business industries. He stated that an unprecedented investment program is underway to enhance the Kingdom’s business jet infrastructure and services.

Saudi Arabia’s General Aviation Roadmap is opening up opportunities in the business aviation sector, offering a $2 billion investment chance for global aviation investors, operators, manufacturers, and service providers.
