Riyadh-based payment service provider Geidea has recently welcomed Abdulrahman Almutairi to its executive team as the new group Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Almutairi’s primary mission will be to spearhead the advancement of the company’s technological infrastructure as part of an ongoing digital transformation.
Bringing over two decades of expertise in both the tech and financial service industries, Almutairi is well-equipped to guide Geidea’s technological endeavors into the future.
Formerly the CTO of STC Pay, the mobile financial services branch of Saudi Telecom Company, Almutairi played a pivotal role for nearly five years. During his tenure, he was instrumental in establishing a modern enterprise architecture and was a co-leader in strategic initiatives, such as securing a digital banking license.
Geidea, established in 2008 by Abdullah Faisal Al-Othman, offers merchants an all-encompassing platform for managing sales, inventory, and online orders. Additionally, the company provides a suite of payment solutions, including point-of-sale (POS) systems, business management tools, and other cutting-edge digital banking technologies.
With a clientele of over 150,000 merchants and a deployment of more than 700,000 payment terminals, Geidea has a substantial presence across the GCC region.
Almutairi’s appointment comes amidst a flurry of recent CTO hirings within the fintech sphere, signaling a trend of strengthening leadership to navigate the rapidly evolving sector.
