On the 19th and 20th of March, the illustrious city of Riyadh hosted a pivotal assembly of the INTOSAI Development Initiative Board of Directors. The convocation saw the participation of Dr. Hossam bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Anqari, the esteemed President of the General Auditing Bureau, who joined as a representative of the Kingdom on the Board.

In attendance were also prominent figures leading the INTOSAI Development Initiative from across the globe, including the United Kingdom, Brazil, Norway, Austria, South Africa, Kenya, and Bhutan. These leaders congregated to deliberate on the progress and impact of the initiatives spearheaded by INTOSAI in recent times.

The Board’s agenda included a comprehensive review of the technical assistance provided to supervisory organizations in developing nations. These initiatives, falling under the INTOSAI umbrella, are geared towards the enhancement of their performance capabilities through strategic programs and projects.

A critical examination of the financial and performance reports of the initiative was conducted, alongside a discussion on the budget for the year 2023. The assembly also scrutinized an international evaluation report detailing the effectiveness of supreme public financial oversight and accounting institutions for the same year. Furthermore, the Board members dissected the final outcomes of the strategic plan that spanned from 2019 to 2023, and they deliberated on the formulation of new policies.
