HD Hyundai Vice Chairman Chung Ki-sun recently held a meeting with the Saudi Arabian Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources to discuss enhancing business cooperation between the two countries. The meeting took place at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ headquarters in Ulsan, South Korea, and was attended by H.E. Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef, the Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and H.H. Sultan Bin Khalid Al Saud, CEO of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund, along with Ju Yeong-min, president of HD Hyundai Oilbank.
During the meeting, Vice Chairman Chung and Minister Alkhorayef’s delegation reviewed the progress of various HD Hyundai projects in Saudi Arabia, including joint shipyards, engine joint ventures, hydrogen, and ammonia projects. They also discussed expanding cooperation related to the Saudi Vision 2030 project, specifically focusing on Neom City.
After the discussions, Vice Chairman Chung showcased HD Hyundai’s business competitiveness by providing a tour of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ shipbuilding site and HD Hyundai Electric’s smart transformer factory. This served as a demonstration of the company’s capabilities in the industry.
Vice Chairman Chung emphasized the long-standing relationship between HD Hyundai and Saudi Arabia and expressed their commitment to further expanding cooperation, particularly in shipbuilding and eco-friendly energy projects. He stated, “We will continue to seek opportunities for joint development while successfully carrying out current cooperation projects.”
