Nesma Infrastructure & Technology (NIT) has solidified a significant agreement with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for a large-scale project.
With the aim of bolstering the electrical transmission and distribution capabilities of the Jizan region, the project’s focus is the construction of the Farasan Island 132/33/13.8KV Substation. The deal is valued at a substantial SAR 300 million.
Project Charter
The contract’s detailed responsibilities encompass a full range of services from engineering, procurement, and construction to testing, commissioning, and energizing the transmission substation. This includes the installation of a static synchronous compensator and integration with the Saudi Arabian National Grid. The project is to be executed on a lump sum turnkey basis, and it is expected to be completed within a 20-month timeframe.
Previously, Nesma had inked a strategic agreement with SEC worth over SAR 1.3 billion. This earlier agreement entails the construction of 16 high-voltage transmission substations that will contribute to the swift developmental pace in the Kingdom’s eastern region.
