Saudi Arabia and Georgia Forge Stronger Ties with New Deals

Business Forum in Tbilisi Strengthens Bilateral Cooperation

The landscape of international trade saw a significant enhancement as Saudi Arabia and Georgia solidified their economic partnership through the inkling of four pivotal agreements. These agreements, which span across industry, energy, and cultural domains, were a highlight of the Georgian-Saudi Investment Forum that recently concluded in Tbilisi.

Integral to these agreements is the advancement and investment in water and solar energy projects. They also aim to reinforce training and develop expertise within cultural specialties, marking a broadening of collaborative efforts between the two nations.

In a gathering that brought together key figures such as Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih and Georgia’s Deputy Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili, as well as other governmental and private sector representatives, the conversation centered on funding opportunities and deepening economic and investment relations. The forum served as a platform to discuss ways to reinforce the economic bonds between Riyadh and Tbilisi.

During the discussions, there was a strong emphasis on promoting high-quality investments and empowering the private sector to seize the opportunities presented in both countries. This sentiment was echoed by the media coverage of the event.

Minister Al-Falih highlighted Georgia’s solid economic foundation and competitive advantages, which pave the way for investment opportunities in diverse sectors including transportation, logistics, agriculture, tourism, culture, and renewable energy.

He also touched upon a shared strategic vision for enhancing the transportation and logistics sector, aiming to connect Asia and Europe seamlessly. Al-Falih’s remarks underlined the Kingdom’s ambitious goal to significantly increase its handling of container traffic to more than 40,000 annually by the year 2030, in line with the National Strategy for Transportation and Logistics.
