Saudi Arabia Leads G20 Space Economy Discussions

Space technology and climate change at the forefront of G20 meeting in Brazil

Saudi Arabia’s G20 presidency initiated the focus on “Space Economy and Climate Change: Challenges and Opportunities” at this year’s fifth G20 Space Economy Leaders Meeting in Brazil.

Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Vice Chairman and CEO of the Saudi Space Agency, led the Saudi delegation. Al-Tamimi emphasized the Kingdom’s advancements in space technology and its commitment to sustainable development and climate change mitigation.

Key discussions centered on innovation, entrepreneurship, and climate change. Al-Tamimi showcased efforts to enhance infrastructure, attract investment, and apply space technology towards sustainable goals.

A strategic cooperation agreement was signed with the Brazilian Space Agency to promote peaceful space exploration. Additionally, Al-Tamimi met with counterparts from Brazil and India to discuss collaboration in the space economy and explored investment opportunities with Brazilian space leaders.
