The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken the wraps off an ambitious project, a state-of-the-art stadium perched atop a cliff 200 meters above the ground, near its capital city of Riyadh. This futuristic venue is intended to be one of the highlights of the 2034 FIFA World Cup, assuming the kingdom’s bid to host the tournament is successful.
The proposed Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, named in honor of the country’s influential crown prince, will boast a seating capacity for 45,000 spectators, a retractable roof, and a movable playing field. In addition to these modern features, the venue is slated to have an extensive LED wall, promising to provide fans with an engaging and unparalleled viewing experience.
This project is spearheaded by the Qiddiya Investment Company and represents a significant part of the larger Qiddiya City development, which is located approximately 30 miles from the heart of Riyadh.
