In an unprecedented achievement for a Saudi educational entity, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) has garnered esteemed accolades from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). This honor marks a significant milestone in recognizing the university’s innovative prowess on the global stage.
At the 49th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, a prestigious event that draws a confluence of global inventors, KSAU-HS stood out by securing two gold medals along with a silver medal for its research endeavours. The event showcased over a thousand inventive concepts and products from scientific and research teams worldwide, demonstrating the fierce competition.
The commendation not only spotlights the university’s research excellence but also cements the international and local standing of its researchers. The first gold medal was bestowed upon KSAU-HS for the innovative ‘Microneedle Balloon Catheter’ project. A second gold medal followed for the invention of a ‘Low-Cost 3D-Printed Tool with Multiaxial/Angular Vessel Orientation for Microvascular Anastomosis Training’. The university’s ingenuity was further recognized with a silver medal for its project titled ‘Hospital Healthcare Provider Monitoring and Verifying Device and System for Patient Care Condition’.
