Saudia Cargo Expands in Asia: Boosting Trade with China

Saudi air cargo targets e-commerce, tech, and agriculture to support Vision 2030 goals.

Saudia Cargo, Saudi Arabia’s national air cargo carrier, is expanding its reach in China and Asia by targeting sectors such as e-commerce, agriculture, and technology. This move includes a new venture in Hong Kong and plans to increase capacity.

The company’s CEO, Loay Mashabi, emphasized that China and the wider Far East region are vital trade partners and will support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. Expanding operations in these markets aligns with the country’s broader economic transformation efforts.

Saudi Arabia’s push to diversify beyond oil has strengthened its ties with China, opening up further opportunities. Despite ongoing geopolitical challenges, Mashabi noted that trade is expected to remain robust, driven by ongoing economic projects.

He stressed that Saudia Cargo is focused on long-term growth in Asia, aiming to create an adaptable business model that maximizes gains in strong periods and minimizes losses during downturns. The deepening collaboration between China and Saudi Arabia is expected to bring lasting benefits for the logistics sector.
