In a strategic move that aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Zain Group has expanded its digital footprint by officially inaugurating ZainTECH’s operations in Riyadh. ZainTECH, the integrated digital solutions arm of Zain Group, is now poised to offer a comprehensive suite of ICT transformational solutions to both the enterprise and government sectors in the region.
The unveiling of ZainTECH’s Riyadh office, which is staffed by over 100 local ICT experts, coincided with the company’s debut at LEAP 2024. Held under the slogan ‘Think Tomorrow, Today’, this event provided the perfect backdrop for the announcement. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed officials, including Raed Al-Fayez, Deputy Governor for Information Technology and Emerging Technologies, alongside a delegation from the Communications, Space and Technology Commission.
With a robust portfolio of over 150 enterprise clients in the Kingdom, ZainTECH has solidified its regional expertise through the acquisition of BIOS Middle East and STS Arabia. The firm now boasts more than 800 ICT professionals dedicated to servicing over 1,400 regional clients. ZainTECH’s commitment to the Saudi market is further evidenced by its plans to establish a regional headquarters in Riyadh and its focus on recruiting local talent.
At LEAP 2024, ZainTECH showcased a range of cutting-edge products and solutions. Their offerings cover a broad spectrum of the ICT landscape, including cloud services, cybersecurity, big data, AI, drones, robotics, and various digital infrastructure solutions—all of which are now accessible from their Saudi Arabian base.
Research from the International Data Corporation (IDC) reveals that ICT spending in the Kingdom topped US$34.5 billion in 2023, with projected strong growth in software and IT services over the next few years. This positions Saudi Arabia as a key player in the global ICT market.
During his LEAP 2024 visit, Deputy Governor Raed Fayez lauded ZainTECH’s expansion and its plans for a regional hub in Saudi Arabia. He emphasized the Kingdom’s eagerness to attract leading tech companies to expedite the digital transformation of its institutions.
Bader Al-Kharafi, Zain Group’s Vice-Chairman and CEO, remarked on the significance of ZainTECH’s formal presence in the Kingdom as a pivotal step in supporting Vision 2030 and establishing the company’s role as a prominent enterprise solutions provider in the Middle East. He stressed the importance of developing local technologies and talent to deliver world-class services.
Andrew Hanna, CEO of ZainTECH, reflected on the company’s growth over the past three years and its active participation in Saudi Arabia’s extensive digital transformation initiatives. Hanna underscored ZainTECH’s commitment to supporting enterprises in harnessing technology for better data monetization and investment value acceleration.
Hanna further highlighted ZainTECH’s ambition to establish a regional head office in Saudi Arabia, reaffirming their dedication to maintaining a strong local presence and customer proximity across various markets.
ZainTECH’s commitment to sustainability was evident at LEAP, where the company’s eco-friendly exhibition stand—constructed from recycled materials and equipped with energy-saving lighting and screens—mirrored Zain’s broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.
