A new partnership has been formed between ACES, a Saudi Arabian neutral host operator, and RANsemi, a UK-based specialist in 5G open RAN semiconductors. This collaboration aims to accelerate the development of advanced 5G open RAN and small cell technologies in Saudi Arabia.
Supported by the National Technology Development Programme under the country’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the project will combine RANsemi’s expertise in 5G baseband technology with ACES’ experience in RF design. Together, they plan to create a state-of-the-art 5G open RAN neutral host small cell system.
Work on the project is already underway, with plans to unveil a prototype at the Small Cells World Summit in London in June 2025. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to driving innovation in the nation’s wireless infrastructure.
This partnership is a prime example of our efforts to partner effectively to realise the full potential of our joint technologies in successfully addressing real-world challenges,
said RANsemi’s CEO, highlighting the significance of the collaboration.
The alliance is expected to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position in emerging 5G technologies and contribute to the evolution of its digital ecosystem.
