Data Saudi Unveiled: A Leap for Economic Transparency

Saudi Arabia's New Platform to Streamline Economic Data

At the prestigious LEAP 2024 technology conference, Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim, the Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning, inaugurated the ‘Data Saudi’ platform amidst a gathering of industry leaders and experts from over 180 nations. The platform’s debut marked a significant milestone in the nation’s push towards digital transformation and economic transparency.

The Data Saudi platform first appeared in a trial phase back in September 2023. Since its introduction by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the platform has been enriched with continuous enhancements and the integration of new functionalities.

Targeted as the primary source for economic and social data within the Kingdom, Data Saudi’s objective is to streamline data accessibility and bolster the transparency of national economic information, aligning with the strategic goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The platform features critical indicators that are displayed through interactive and visual tools, allowing users to seamlessly navigate detailed information pertaining to various economic and social sectors within the Kingdom and its regions.

A plethora of vital economic indicators are available on the platform, including details on the international trade balance, workers’ remittances, capital-account balance, and current-account balance. Additionally, the platform encompasses a range of social indicators, offering insights into population density, birth rates, and demographic structures.

In a ceremony at LEAP 2024, Eng. Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority, bestowed the National Enterprise Architecture Accreditation Certificate upon the Ministry of Economy and Planning. This accolade is awarded to government bodies that demonstrate excellence in adopting the national standards for enterprise architecture maturity, thus propelling digital transformation efforts within the governmental sphere.

The Data Saudi platform stands as a testament to the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering a digitally enabled economy and is readily accessible to users interested in economic and social data insights.
