The realm of business media recently witnessed a significant event where the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) conducted an enlightening workshop. This session, part of the 3rd Saudi Media Forum, delved into the critical role of data and artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming the media landscape. The event, a brainchild of the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) and the Saudi Journalists Association, was hosted in Riyadh over the course of February 20–21, 2024, with SDAIA spearheading digital facilitation.
Insightful presentations were delivered by Dr. Khaled Alhazmi, SAUDIA’s Vice President of Operations and IT Support, and Dr. Zafar Al-Halafi, the General Supervisor of the Data Management Office at the SBA. The speakers navigated through a spectrum of topics. They explored the burgeoning impact of generative AI and discussed the mixed bag of benefits and challenges brought forth by AI and big data. The utilization and methodologies of data AI were examined, alongside its capacity to foster innovation in media instruments. The duo also addressed the moral dilemmas posed by AI’s integration into the media sector.
