Saudi Arabia Unveils Digital Visitor Document at LEAP 2024

Streamlined Entry with Saudi's New Digital ID Service

The General Directorate of Passports in Saudi Arabia has introduced a new digital document for international guests during the LEAP 2024 tech event, held from March 4th to 7th at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. This innovative service is among the various digital and technical solutions offered to citizens, residents, and tourists to improve their access to services within the Kingdom.

The digital document service simplifies the process for visitors entering Saudi Arabia by providing a unique identifier. This number grants access to the Ministry of Interior’s ‘Absher’ online platform, where visitors can obtain their digital identities. These identities, accessible on mobile devices, are recognized throughout the Kingdom, making physical passports unnecessary for internal travel.

By participating in LEAP 2024, the most prominent global tech conference, the Ministry of Interior underscores its commitment to integrating AI-powered technologies and innovative digital systems. These advancements are designed to enhance security, manage crowds more efficiently, and ensure the safety of individuals and the environment during large-scale events, all in line with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030.
