In a milestone move for the business media sector, Saudi Arabia’s energy powerhouse Aramco has entered into a pivotal agreement with Pasqal, a French computing firm, setting the stage for the nation’s first quantum computer. This high-tech device, which leverages a 200-qubit capacity, is on the calendar for installation in the latter half of the following year, as disclosed in a recent press statement.
Quantum computers operate on qubits, enabling them to execute multidimensional algorithms and tackle complex equations at a pace that outstrips conventional computing systems. Ahmad Al-Khowaiter, Aramco’s top executive for technology and innovation, expressed that the collaboration with Pasqal is anticipated to significantly enhance the caliber of information processing within the Kingdom.
