Strategic Initiative to Boost Energy Efficiency in Riyadh Naval Buildings

Tarshid Partners with Saudi Navy for Sustainable Energy Use

In a significant move towards sustainable energy management, the National Energy Efficiency Services Company, Tarshid, alongside the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, has launched a project aimed at boosting energy efficiency and lowering energy consumption across 16 properties owned by the naval forces in Riyadh.

Consistent with international efforts to improve energy utilization, Tarshid has undertaken meticulous field surveys and technical evaluations of the concerned buildings and facilities. The company’s CEO and Board Member, Waled Alghreri, emphasized the integration of 15 critical standards for energy efficiency enhancement, which encompasses upgrades in control systems, central air conditioning, and the introduction of variable-frequency drive units for air handling. Moreover, the initiative includes swapping out less efficient air conditioning units with advanced, energy-saving options.

Another focal point of the project is the modernization of lighting infrastructure. Tarshid plans to replace conventional lighting with high-efficiency LED systems, which are known for their superior performance in work environments. The efficiency drive will also see the installation of occupancy sensors in the offices and facilities of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces in Riyadh, to further reduce unnecessary energy expenditure.
