Abdullah Hakeem's Journey in AI and Technology

Young Saudis like Abdullah Hakeem are pivotal in Saudi Arabia’s tech sector growth. Graduating from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Hakeem, 25, leverages technology to bridge gaps, enhance communication, and empower communities.

During his university years, Hakeem developed a WhatsApp bot that gained over 1,000 users. He faced challenges maintaining its efficiency but overcame them through technical refinements. He also created around 30 WhatsApp groups to connect students interested in development and skill enhancement.

Hakeem organized competitions to challenge his peers and foster learning. His internship at Takamul Technologies in 2022 was crucial, where he significantly improved the company’s website performance, earning a part-time job offer.

He led his team to victory in the KFUPM Innovation Hackathon and the Metathon competition, where they won SR150k. His graduation project, integrated with Foodics, secured first place at the KFUPM Graduation Expo and gained significant social media attention, leading to an invitation to the MISK Launchpad program.

Hakeem’s participation in the MISK Launchpad program taught him the importance of building real products. His skills caught the attention of the Saudi Data and AI Authority, where he now works, aiming to enhance Saudi Arabia’s global AI standings.

Currently, he is involved in organizing the Global AI Summit, promoting Saudi advancements in AI and fostering international collaboration. Hakeem represents a new generation of Saudis driven by Vision 2030, making significant contributions to the tech industry.
