Saudi Arabia is ambitiously targeting 70 million tourists annually by 2030, striving to become one of the world’s top seven tourist destinations, according to Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb.

During a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Al Khateeb highlighted that the country attracted nearly 30 million international tourists last year, marking a record achievement.

The minister credited the tourism boom to effective governance and strategic planning. Initiatives like e-visa implementation and new airport constructions have substantially increased international visits.

Saudi Arabia is enhancing the tourist experience from arrival to departure, focusing on transportation and destinations. New projects include King Salman International Airport, expected to handle over 120 million travelers, and the launch of Riyadh Air to bolster tourism efforts.

European Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas acknowledged the kingdom’s progress in tourism, noting its partnerships and strong sector performance.
