Emirati shipping powerhouse Aramex has expanded its global footprint by establishing a new regional base in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh. This strategic initiative is part of a broader move by international firms to capitalize on the Kingdom’s burgeoning role as a pivotal business nexus.
The official launch of Aramex’s Riyadh office underscores the firm’s dedication to fostering growth in the regional logistics sector and its commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a leading logistics hub.
Aramex CEO Othman Al-Jeda expressed enthusiasm over the new chapter this represents for the company, articulating a vision of synergy with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious infrastructure overhaul. This strategic decision demonstrates Aramex’s long-term commitment to Saudi Arabia and its confidence in the Kingdom’s economic future,
Al-Jeda remarked.
The company, with operations spanning over 70 countries, has a history of collaboration with Saudi governmental and commercial entities. The new Riyadh headquarters is expected to be a launchpad for innovative projects that will positively impact the Saudi economy and foster talent development in alignment with the Kingdom’s 2030 developmental framework.
Samer Marei, Aramex’s vice president of regional headquarters, highlighted the strategic importance of the Saudi expansion, tying it to the company’s 40-year legacy and its proactive stance on evolving with the dynamic logistics and transportation sector.
Marei emphasized the role of advanced logistics solutions and technology in meeting client needs within Saudi Arabia and the broader region, aligning with the Vision 2030 objectives. The move comes on the heels of an announcement by the Saudi Investment Ministry in December 2023, offering enticing benefits such as tax incentives to foreign companies that set up their regional headquarters within the Kingdom.
