China Telecom has officially launched its Gulf branch in Riyadh, marking a significant step in its international expansion and alignment with the “Belt and Road Initiative.” This move aims to strengthen the “China-Arab Community with a Shared Future.” The launch event was attended by over 100 guests, including leaders from the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy, Saudi Telecom Company, Bank of China, and Huawei.
In his speech, Liu Guiqing, Executive Director of China Telecom, emphasized the company’s commitment to collaboration and innovation in cloud-network integration and next-generation technologies. China Telecom plans to leverage its expertise in 5G, cloud computing, and AI to enhance Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure, offering advanced communication services to local enterprises and consumers.
Mr. Fawaz, representing the Chinese companies in Saudi Arabia, praised the establishment of China Telecom Gulf as a key contributor to the region’s digital transformation. He expressed confidence in the company’s ability to seize digital era opportunities and foster socio-economic development in Saudi Arabia through collaboration.
China Telecom highlighted its global reach, including operations in 42 countries, 53 international submarine cables, and 27 Internet Data Centers. It introduced services like eSurfing Cloud and customized 5G networks, showcasing its capacity to support digital growth in the Middle East and Africa.
Strategic partnerships were formed during the event with Saudi Telecom Company, Huawei Saudi Arabia, and Baud Telecom Company, aiming to deliver enhanced digital experiences to customers in Saudi Arabia.
China Telecom’s entry into the Middle Eastern market represents a strategic milestone in its global expansion. The company is committed to strengthening Sino-Saudi industrial cooperation and contributing to the Middle East’s digital economy growth, aspiring to become a leading provider of digital and intelligent technology services.
