The Saudi Arabian Minister in charge of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, made a strategic visit to Tangier, Morocco, with the intention of scouting out collaborative ventures and discussing the prospects of commencing joint automotive projects with the North African nation.
While in Tangier, the Minister’s agenda included a thorough walkthrough of the Renault car manufacturing plant, where he observed the various production phases and dialogued on potential partnership opportunities. In addition, he paid a visit to the IFMIA vocational training institute, which is renowned for its excellence in nurturing skilled professionals for the automotive sector. His tour also encompassed a stopover at TE Connectivity, a company that prides itself on its specialized production of electrical components and systems for transportation.
In his exchanges with key figures of the Tangier automotive industry, Minister Alkhorayef affirmed Saudi Arabia’s dedication to the domestication of several value-added industries, automotive production being a prime example. He showcased an eagerness to integrate the wisdom and practices of the global and regional automotive sectors, specifically applauding the pioneering Moroccan achievements in car manufacturing—a first among Arab countries.
Accompanying the Minister were notable figures such as the Vice Minister for Mining Affairs, Eng. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer, and Dr. Sami bin Abdullah Al-Saleh, the Saudi ambassador to Morocco.
