Azfar Shakeel, CEO of Lumi Car Rental, emphasized the company’s commitment to transforming mobility for individuals and businesses in Saudi Arabia through digital innovation. Lumi aims to foster sustainable growth in the Kingdom’s evolving transportation sector.

Lumi’s growth is driven by maintaining and expanding operations, seizing new opportunities, and forming partnerships, especially under Saudi Vision 2030. Shakeel highlighted a recent agreement with Saferoad to enhance fleet services using IoT solutions, aligning with Lumi’s goal to lead the digitalization of land transportation in Saudi Arabia.

The company is also improving its short-term rental business through a multi-channel infrastructure, including mobile apps, a website, a call center, and WhatsApp services, all aimed at boosting efficiency and profitability.

Operating 41 branches in 18 Saudi cities, Lumi integrates digital services aligned with global best practices. Shakeel stressed the importance of collaborating with like-minded companies to offer innovative services, noting that Saudi Arabia’s economic and tourism growth, driven by Vision 2030, positions the car rental industry for a significant role.

Shakeel attributed the future growth of the car rental market to the expansion of Saudi tourism and government initiatives to make the country a global logistics hub. Lumi’s profits reached SAR 160 million ($42.6 million) in 2023, an increase of SAR 17 million ($4.5 million), credited to its focus on core sectors: corporate and government rentals, daily rentals, and used car sales.

Shakeel reaffirmed Lumi’s dedication to technological advancements and delivering a seamless customer experience, aiming to be the top choice for those seeking a smooth, digital experience in renting or purchasing used vehicles.
