In a strategic move to bolster its international presence, NEOM, Saudi Arabia’s ambitious $500 billion business and tourism initiative, has inaugurated its first United States office. The new outpost is situated in the bustling business district of Manhattan at 50 Hudson Yards, New York City.

The grand opening was graced by the presence of Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar, alongside NEOM’s Chief Executive Officer, Nadhmi al-Nasr. This milestone follows the establishment of NEOM’s initial international office in London which took place in November of the previous year.

During the opening ceremony, Princess Reema emphasized NEOM’s potential to transcend national boundaries and serve as an archetype for future urban developments. Echoing this sentiment, CEO al-Nasr highlighted the importance of forging strong international partnerships and chose New York City for its prominence as a global hub for business and finance.

The US operations of NEOM will be led by financial veteran Bob Stefanowski, taking on the role of managing director. NEOM has made headlines with its announcement of several eco-friendly attractions such as Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana, Aquellum, and Zardun, reflecting its commitment to sustainability.

Enhancing its appeal as a travel destination, Saudi Arabia introduced a tourist visa in September 2019, which significantly boosted the tourism sector. The Kingdom has successfully attracted 27 million international tourists in 2023 alone.

As part of the Vision 2030 reform agenda, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is prioritizing tourism to diversify the economy beyond oil. This vision is driving significant changes and growth within the country, as Saudi Arabia adapts to an evolving global economic landscape.
