At a recent gathering in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, and the UK’s Energy Security and Net Zero Secretary, Claire Coutinho, engaged in discussions centered on enhancing energy cooperation between their respective nations.

The dialogue included an examination of prospects within the energy sector, guided by a shared commitment outlined in a memorandum of cooperation from October 2022. Among the focal subjects were the establishment of comprehensive standards for clean hydrogen, strategies for direct emission reduction, and the formulation of regulations and policies pertaining to carbon dioxide capture, transport, and storage, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Both Prince Abdulaziz and Coutinho concurred on the importance of bolstering collaborative efforts in the realms of renewable energy, petrochemicals, power generation, and the localization of industry activities within the energy sector.
