In a significant move to foster the growth of electric vehicle (EV) use in Saudi Arabia, ROSHN Group, a premier real estate developer owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has entered into a collaborative agreement with the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company (EVIQ), a key provider of EV charging solutions. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to enhance the DC charging infrastructure in the residential and commercial areas developed by ROSHN across the nation.

The partnership is a pivotal step in both ROSHN’s and EVIQ’s commitment to advancing sustainable transportation. It aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goal to increase the prevalence of EVs on Riyadh’s roads to 30%. This initiative will not only provide greater access and convenience for the public but also promote a greener future for the Kingdom.

David Grover, CEO of ROSHN Group, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing its role in reinforcing a strong EV ecosystem. The collaboration began with the establishment of the first public EV charging station at ROSHN Front, a popular Riyadh destination with significant foot traffic. Grover highlighted the goal to extend the charging infrastructure across the developer’s human-centered, integrated communities throughout Saudi Arabia.

Mohammad Baker Gazzaz, CEO of EVIQ, remarked on the shared vision of both firms to enhance the living standards for Saudi citizens. He pointed out that EVIQ’s advanced charging technology, together with ROSHN’s widespread real estate coverage, will build a comprehensive network of high-speed chargers in strategic locations. This network will facilitate a seamless experience for EV owners and support the Kingdom’s EV expansion plans.

The collaboration will be inaugurated with the launch of the Kingdom’s first fast-charging public site at ROSHN Front in Riyadh. This strategic alliance is set to capitalize on the expertise of both entities, aiming to improve the infrastructure and support systems essential for the EV adoption surge in the region. Through this partnership, ROSHN aims to set new standards in real estate by focusing on innovation, sustainability, and integrity.
