The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing a substantial rise in demand for online delivery services, as confirmed by recent statistics from the nation’s commerce ministry.

These new insights reveal an impressive 61 percent surge in registered e-delivery enterprises within the Kingdom, with figures climbing from 2,903 in the last quarter of 2023 to 4,699 in the first quarter of 2024.

The capital city, Riyadh, leads the charge with a total of 2,473 e-delivery companies, followed by Makkah with 1,253, the Eastern Province with 468, Madinah with 137, and Al-Qassim standing at 114.

Parallel to the e-delivery service boom, the e-commerce industry in Saudi Arabia is also experiencing robust growth. A noteworthy 17 percent increase in registered e-commerce businesses was recorded from the fourth quarter of 2023 to the first quarter of 2024, with the count rising from 33,074 to 38,850.

This economic trend is particularly strong in regions such as Riyadh, Makkah, and the Eastern Province.

These developments are in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to substantially increase the modern trade and e-commerce’s contribution to the retail sector of the country to 80 percent.
