Despite limited success in past overseas ventures, Saudi Arabia sees new opportunities in the mining sector. The kingdom is interested in acquiring a stake in Barrick Gold Corp.’s Zaldivar copper mine in Chile, with backing from Manara Minerals Investment Co., supported by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund.
