The Saudi Export Development Authority, known as Saudi Exports, is set to make its mark at the 9th Iraq International Energy Exhibition and Conference taking place in Baghdad from February 12-14. With the backing of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, and the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity, the event is poised to be a significant platform for fostering bilateral trade relations.
Saudi Exports’ presence at the exhibition underscores its strategic objective to bolster Saudi exporters by unlocking new avenues in both regional and global markets. This initiative is in concert with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which seeks to broaden the economic base by diversifying income sources beyond oil. A key ambition of this vision is to see non-oil exports contribute to half of the nation’s GDP by the year 2030.
The exhibition is more than just a showcase; it’s a pivotal point for nurturing collaborative ties with energy investment firms within Iraq. It acts as a direct conduit into the Iraqi energy sector and presents a unique opportunity for Saudi businesses to mingle with high-ranking Iraqi officials and influencers.
With Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports to Iraq reaching SAR 18.17 billion from 2018 to the third quarter of 2023, the Republic of Iraq stands out as a vital and lucrative market for Saudi Arabian businesses.
