Saudi Railways Clinches Deal with P&G for Efficient Goods Transit

A Strategic Move to Boost Domestic Transport Efficiency

The Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) has recently entered into a partnership with Procter & Gamble (P&G), a leading consumer goods producer, to facilitate the shipment of goods from the P&G factory in Dammam to clientele in Riyadh. The agreement was formalized by Eng. Badr Al-Atni, SAR’s Senior Vice President of Freight, and Eng. Ahmed Banan, Chief Operating Officer of Supply Chain and Logistic Network Operations representing P&G.

This initiative is set to harness the capabilities of railway transport to enhance the speed and efficiency of P&G’s product delivery. SAR’s reliable logistical solutions will play a pivotal role in this venture, offering an effective mode of domestic goods transportation.

The contract aligns with the broader objectives of reducing highway congestion, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and preserving the integrity of road infrastructure. These benefits are in accordance with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS) and the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to promote sustainable and efficient transport systems within the kingdom.
