At a significant gathering in Tunis, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, highlighted the promising prospects for deepening the comprehensive partnership with Tunisia. This ambition aligns with the strategic goals set forth by the Saudi-Tunisian Committee, leveraging the unique benefits and capabilities of both nations. These include their strategic geographic positions and the sustainability and economic diversification visions laid out by their leaderships, spanning industries such as renewable energy, agriculture, and an increase in trade and exports, as well as the utilization of natural resources to foster bilateral cooperation.
During his address at the Saudi-Tunisian Investment and Partnership Forum, which convened at the Tunisian Union for Industry, Trade, and Traditional Industries’ headquarters in Tunis, Alkhorayef reflected on the enhanced future envisioned for their populations. The forum’s foundation is the result of the committee’s continuous efforts since its inception and the longstanding ties between the two nations, which trace back to the 1966 friendship and cooperation agreement.
Alkhorayef referenced the Saudi Vision 2030’s significant impact on the Kingdom’s progress across various sectors. This vision is not solely concentrated on enriching the domestic economy but is also geared towards forming alliances and advancing collaborations with Arab and African countries. Saudi Arabia’s hosting of numerous Arab and African summits serves as a testament to its commitment to fostering amicable relations and establishing productive partnerships with African nations across political, economic, and developmental realms.
The forum’s opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr, the Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia, along with approximately 300 entrepreneurs and investors from both countries. This event marks a milestone in the ongoing dialogue and business relations between Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
