Significant Progress in the Development of Saudi AMAALA Luxury Tourism Destination
Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Global (RSG) is making substantial strides in developing AMAALA, a luxury destination focused on wellness and regenerative tourism. AMAALA aims to enhance the coastal lifestyle, offering spaces designed for deep connections with nature, self, and community.
RSG Group CEO John Pagano highlighted the remarkable progress, emphasizing sustainability and regenerative principles in the development. The project promises to elevate wellness, lifestyle, and human connection through its unique offerings.
RSG has awarded over 600 contracts worth nearly SAR23 billion ($6.13bn) to partners committed to responsible development and collaboration with local communities.
Key areas of AMAALA are nearing completion. At Triple Bay Marina Village, the Equinox Resort is topped out, and construction of the Village Boutique Hotel’s main building, condos, and villas is progressing. This hub will feature waterfront restaurants, boutiques, and a vibrant events program.
The Marina’s basin flooding was completed in 2023, and contracts for pontoons and decks have been awarded. Construction at the AMAALA Yacht Club is advancing with concrete works almost finished and structural steel and MEP works underway.
In the Wellness Core, 80% of the 220 buildings have superstructures in place, including renowned wellness resorts like Jayasom and Clinique La Prairie. The AMAALA Hospital’s design was approved by the Ministry of Health, enhancing healthcare for residents and visitors.
Upon completion, AMAALA will offer nearly 4,000 hotel rooms across 30 hotels, 1,200 luxury villas, apartments, and estate homes, complemented by high-end retail, dining, and wellness facilities. The destination will be powered entirely by solar energy, significantly reducing CO2 emissions.
