In a significant development within Saudi Arabia’s business media sector, the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) along with its affiliate National Electricity Transmission (NET), have formalized two key agreements with Emaar, The Economic City (EEC). These agreements are clear indicators of the Kingdom’s economic upswing and its swift industrial progress, which is in tandem with the escalating demand for electrical energy. This is all part of the broader objectives laid out in the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030.
The agreements are pivotal for providing electrical services to the second and third phases of the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) projects. The first contract facilitates the integration of KAEC’s primary substation with the NET’s comprehensive electrical system. Meanwhile, the second contract ensures the provision of electrical services necessary for powering the projects. Notably, this encompasses the advanced international industrial sector focused on electric vehicle manufacturing within the third phase of the KAEC Industrial Valley. Among these projects are the production facilities for the Saudi Ceer Company’s electric vehicles and Lucid’s electric car plants.
SEC’s CEO, Khalid bin Hamad Al-Qunun, has reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s aspirations by offering sophisticated electrical solutions and services. This will be achieved through various initiatives and strategic approaches designed to ensure the provision of reliable electrical energy to major projects that align with Vision 2030.
Mansour bin Abdulrahman Al-Salem, Managing Director of EEC, expressed satisfaction with the signing of these important agreements. He emphasized that these contracts are paramount to fulfilling the growing energy needs of KAEC, which is poised to become a hub for numerous ventures that will play a significant role in realizing the objectives of the Kingdom’s vision.
