The Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, held discussions on Monday aimed at bolstering cooperation and promoting digital inclusivity with ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin. Their conversation at the World Economic Forum in Davos centered on enhancing global connectivity, empowering communities, and environmental stewardship through digital initiatives.

As part of the Saudi delegation’s engagement at the prestigious gathering, the meetings underscored the vital role of strategic alliances in driving the expansion of the digital economy. The dialogue also explored the burgeoning field of generative artificial intelligence, the cultivation of digital skills within the national workforce, and the support of digital entrepreneurship.

In his quest to fortify partnerships within the digital economy and innovation sectors, Eng. Al-Swaha interacted with executives from leading global technology and innovation corporations. The focus of these discussions was on developing cutting-edge solutions and technologies in areas such as cloud computing and generative AI, as well as improving the digital proficiency of the Saudi population in emerging technologies and the localization of digital content.

Furthering this agenda, the minister engaged in conversations with Alexander Wang, founder and CEO of Scale AI, and Borje Ekholm, President and CEO of the Ericsson Group.
