At the renowned 49th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, which took place from April 17 to 21, Jouf University emerged as a beacon of innovation, securing four prestigious medals in a fierce competition that saw participation from 26 Saudi universities and over 1,000 inventions from more than 40 countries.
The university’s College of Science students demonstrated exceptional ingenuity, garnering three gold and one silver medal. Achieving gold were Wasn Alenazi with “Sustainable biodiesel production from waste olive oil”, Hala Aldaghmi for her “Solar remediation wastewater system using confined CdS quantum dots in polysulfone membrane”, and a collaborative effort by Aldaghmi and Ahmed Albarkani on the “Chemiresistive substrate for a hydrogen gas sensor” project. Additionally, Ahmed Albarkani’s individual contribution on “Nanostructured hybrid electrodes for energy-efficient water desalination” was honored with a silver accolade.
Prof. Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, the university president, expressed immense pride in the university’s academic community for their stellar performance on an international stage, which not only elevated the university’s profile but also served as a testament to the nation’s burgeoning scientific prowess.
