India’s Welspun Corp has announced that its associate company, East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry (EPIC), has secured substantial contracts in Saudi Arabia valued at approximately Rs 3,000 crore. The contracts signify a significant boost for EPIC, underscoring its prominence in the region’s industrial landscape.
According to an official statement from Welspun Corp, the total orders amassed by EPIC exceed the amount of SAR 1.32 billion. These contracts are set to reinforce EPIC’s position as a premier manufacturer of Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW) pipes within the Kingdom.
One of the notable contracts includes an agreement with Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) valued at over SAR 1 billion (Rs 2,200 crore) inclusive of value-added tax, which encompasses the manufacturing and supply of steel pipes. Another significant deal, exceeding SAR 153 million (Rs 339 crore) including value-added tax, involves the production and delivery of steel pipes to Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Aramco).
In addition, EPIC has been entrusted with a further order for the double jointing and coating of steel pipes for Aramco, with the contract’s value surpassing SAR 170 million (Rs 377 crore), also inclusive of value-added tax.
