A team from the Ministry of Economy and Planning, led by Deputy Minister Rakan Alsheikh, participated in key sessions of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) Economic Policy Committee (EPC) and Regulatory Policy Committee (RPC). These discussions took place at the OECD’s Paris headquarters on April 10th and 11th.

The EPC collaborates closely with the OECD’s Economic Department, focusing on tracking and evaluating the economic strategies of its member countries. This includes performing in-depth macroeconomic and structural assessments.

The RPC’s role is to review and assess the regulatory frameworks within member nations and other cooperating states. These assessments are crucial for guiding economic, social, and environmental policy decisions.

During the gatherings, experts exchanged insights on some of the most pressing macroeconomic issues that the world faces today. The agenda included topics such as economic growth, employment trends, pension system sustainability, and the management of public finances. Moreover, attendees reviewed various studies that the committees had undertaken as part of their responsibilities.
