In August, the prices of 114 goods and services in Saudi Arabia rose year-on-year, while 51 saw a decrease, and four remained unchanged, according to the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Among food products, local medium potatoes had the highest increase at 44.41%, followed by local round onions at 42.02%. Indian pomegranates experienced the largest decline, dropping 11.56%, with green beans falling 10.47%.
In construction materials, 34 items saw price hikes, with red sand leading at 19.03%. Meanwhile, the 6mm national rebar had the most significant drop at 3.83%.
Fodder and livestock products mostly increased, with ten items rising and three falling in price.
Nine clothing items saw price increases, with only one declining.
Three out of four miscellaneous personal services and commodities rose in price.
All detergent products experienced price increases.
Health services saw a year-on-year price rise in August.
Prices for the maintenance and repair of personal transportation services also increased.
The cost of hotel and furnished apartment services went up as well.
In the tobacco category, Marlboro prices fell year-on-year in August.
