America’s Cup Sails into Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Major sailing event takes place in Jeddah Yacht Club

The America’s Cup 37 (AC37) is set to begin in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia next week. The tournament will take place from November 29 to December 2 at the Jeddah Yacht Club and Marina.

Teams from the UK, Italy, France, and the US will compete against each other to challenge New Zealand, the defending champion and two-time consecutive winner. New Zealand aims to secure a third consecutive victory in Barcelona in August 2024, following the conclusion of the preliminary tournament in the Red Sea.

America’s Cup sets sail in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Sports, in collaboration with the Saudi Sailing Federation, is hosting this major water sports event to introduce young people to sailing and attract talented individuals who can represent the Kingdom in various local, regional, and international competitions. Additionally, the event aims to enhance the quality of life by promoting participation in sports, which has a significant impact on mental and physical health.

The America’s Cup will commence with local water activities organized by the Saudi Sailing Federation from 9 am to 11 am. The International Racing Village will then open, allowing visitors to witness the official training race from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
