EV Auto Show 2024: Saudi Arabia’s Car Rental and B2B Sectors to Propel EV Adoption by 2026
At the EV Auto Show in Riyadh, industry leader Hashim Al-Fatayerji predicted that Saudi Arabia’s car rental and B2B sectors will significantly drive the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) within the next two years.
Al-Fatayerji, regional executive director at Sixt, highlighted the anticipated increase in EV dealerships and local production by 2026, which he believes will transform the market dynamics.
Saudi Arabia aims to convert 30% of Riyadh’s vehicles to electric by 2030 as part of its broader strategy to reduce emissions by 50% and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
Al-Fatayerji emphasized the importance of collaboration with partners and suppliers to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.
Nicolas Verneuil, managing director at Petromin Stellantis, stressed the need for further advancements in the EV sector to enhance the driving experience and infrastructure.
Lisa Brigmann, CEO of AdvantEdge Engineering Group, called on automotive companies and rental businesses to help customers integrate EVs into their daily lives, highlighting the environmental benefits despite high material costs.
