Mawhiba Student Clinches Silver at Prestigious Invention Fair

Innovative Malaria Solution Earns Acclaim in Middle East Event

A student from the King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, also known as Mawhiba, has impressively secured a silver medal at the 14th annual International Invention Fair in the Middle East (IIFME). The event, under the patronage of Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait, took place from February 4 to 7.

Dr. Hassan bin Nizar Khudari, the laureate, showcased an innovation involving advanced nanoparticles designed to combat malaria. This project was initially part of his entry in the 2013 National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity “Ibdaa,” where he also earned a commendable fourth place. Further extending his success, Dr. Khudari participated in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) and was awarded third place for his groundbreaking work.

The IIFME is recognized as a critical platform for inventors in the Middle East, fostering a culture of creativity and invention since its inception in 2007. The exhibition also serves as a nexus for inventors, innovators, institutions, and economic entities to build and strengthen collaborative relationships.
