Saudi Arabia’s Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission is gearing up for the Riyadh International Book Fair at King Saud University from September 26 to October 5.

This year’s event will host writers, intellectuals, and thought leaders from around the world, alongside over 2,000 publishing houses from 30 countries, reinforcing its status as a premier cultural platform in the Arab world.

The fair will include 800 pavilions and over 200 events catering to all ages, promoting reading culture and cultural creativity.

A special area for children will offer literary, cultural, and recreational activities and competitions to inspire creativity, foster a love for reading, and develop young talents.

Self-published Saudi authors will have a dedicated space, highlighting the Commission’s commitment to supporting local writers and the publishing industry, providing a platform for Saudi literary works.

Qatar, this year’s guest of honor, will present its cultural and intellectual heritage through a special pavilion showcasing rare manuscripts and publications from its Ministry of Culture.

Dr. Mohammed Alwan, Commission CEO, emphasized the fair’s importance, noting its five-decade history and its role as a key cultural event in the region. He credited the Saudi leadership’s support for the cultural sector for its success, underlining the Kingdom’s influence on the Arab cultural landscape.

The fair offers a blend of modern technologies and digital solutions, allowing visitors to explore thousands of new publications and participate in a rich cultural program with prominent figures from Saudi Arabia and beyond.
