The General Entertainment Authority’s Chairman, Advisor Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, has disclosed a significant long-term strategic pact involving Riyadh Season and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), signaling the inauguration of a new Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event slated for the 2024-2025 Riyadh Season.
In line with the accord, Power Slap contests, also part of the UFC portfolio, will debut during the event. Moreover, Riyadh Season will act as a principal sponsor for the UFC clash scheduled at Las Vegas’s Sphere, designated as the Riyadh Season Fight, and will orchestrate an additional UFC bout within the 2024-2025 Riyadh Season.
Alalshikh highlighted that this collaboration underscores Riyadh Season’s commitment to curating and backing high-profile international events, thus positioning Riyadh as a pivotal locale for combat sports globally. The objective is to diversify the seasonal events to attract a diverse, worldwide audience.
Adding to the excitement, it was recently announced that UFC FIGHT NIGHT, featuring the matchup between champion Khamzat Chimaev and former champion Robert Whittaker, will be a highlight of the Integrated Martial Arts Championship. This electrifying event is scheduled for June 22, 2024, at the Kingdom Arena.
