The fourth iteration of the Riyadh Season has proudly disclosed its role as the host and benefactor for the climactic face-off of the Egypt Cup, featuring the renowned Al-Ahly and Zamalek clubs. The event is scheduled for March 8th and will be graced with a suite of accompanying festivities at Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh.
Yasser Al-Misehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), shared his enthusiasm about the event, noting that the inclusion of high-profile matches like the Egypt Cup within the Riyadh Season is a golden chance. It reflects fruitful cooperation and constructive harmony among all sectors of the Kingdom, ensuring the achievement of objectives in hosting and organizing significant sports events in the Kingdom,
Al-Misehal commented. He underscored the event’s role in showcasing the Kingdom’s progress and variety in different domains, thereby cementing its status as a leading global sports hub.
On a similar note, Gamal Allam, President of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), highlighted that this initiative bolsters the already strong bonds between the Kingdom and Egypt. Allam pointed out that the choice to hold the match in Riyadh was motivated by both the Egyptian diaspora’s interests in the Kingdom and the anticipated participation of Saudi fans.
