Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, led the nation’s delegation to the prestigious International Travel Trade Show in Berlin, known as ITB Berlin. As one of the foremost gatherings in the tourism industry, ITB Berlin draws a global audience, including thousands of travel and tourism agencies.
The minister had the honor of inaugurating the Saudi pavilion, where he engaged with executives from top international firms, along with figures from influential organizations like the World Tourism Organization and the World Travel and Tourism Council.
In a showcase of Saudi Arabia’s rich tourism offerings, the Ministry of Tourism and a prominent Saudi delegation highlighted the country’s considerable assets in the sector. Visitors to the pavilion were introduced to Saudi Arabia’s varied geographic landscapes, cultural heritage sites, and modern attractions.
With over 45 agencies representing the Saudi Tourism Authority, including tour operators, hotels, travel companies, and airlines, the pavilion was a vibrant hub for networking and promotion. The delegation proudly presented the Kingdom’s tourism achievements, including welcoming over 100 million tourists in 2023, leading the United Nations’ list for tourism growth, and ranking atop G20 nations in the influx of international tourists.
