The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is poised to be at the forefront of scientific inquiry as it prepares to host the Asian Physics Olympiad in 2025, a major academic event attracting the brightest minds from across Asia. The Olympiad, which will welcome participants from 27 nations, is set to underscore the Kingdom’s leading role in the realms of science and education.
According to Dr. Amal bint Abdullah Al-Hazzaa, the Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), this significant event reinforces Saudi Arabia’s international stature and its commitment to fostering scientific knowledge. This commitment is in line with the nation’s ambitious Vision 2030, a strategic framework spearheaded by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, which aims to turn the country into a model of global success across various sectors.
The Olympiad is scheduled for May of the following year and is a joint collaboration between Mawhiba, the Ministry of Education, and the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. This collaborative effort highlights the synergies between Saudi Arabia’s educational institutions and their shared goal of promoting scientific excellence.
