Winter at Tantora Returns to AlUla with a Cultural Extravaganza

AlUla's Flagship Festival Showcases Art, Music, and Poetry

AlUla Moments has just unveiled a plethora of exciting updates about the renowned Winter at Tantora festival, gearing up for its fifth season starting tomorrow and extending until January 27, 2024. This long-standing event of culture, art, and music makes its grand return, promising a six-week carnival filled with premium celebrations, activities, and themed weekends against the stunning backdrop of AlUla’s landscapes.

The event’s program is brimming with a wide array of music, art, sports, fashion, and cultural activities. “We are set to deliver an unparalleled edition of Winter at Tantora, designed to spark the festive spirit and offer dazzling experiences for all,” remarked the Vice President of Destination Management and Marketing at the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU). He further noted that this year’s festival, which celebrates the Year of Arabic Poetry, will combine both traditional favorites and new attractions to create an unforgettable experience.

On the eve of the festival, AlUla Moments has given a sneak peek into several key events, including a musical homage to the legendary love story of Jamil and Bouthayna. The performance will feature Zeina Emad, a talented Saudi singer, and the premiere of a song inspired by AlUla, penned by the esteemed Saudi poet Fahad AlMusaed. Additionally, Word of AlUla is an initiative dedicated to honoring the richness of the Arabic language, offering a month-long slate of workshops, exhibitions, and live performances.

A highlight is the Poets Parade, a dynamic collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Culture in honor of the 2023 Year of Arabic Poetry. This parade will bring the works of 14 acclaimed poets to life through vibrant performances, featuring more than 30 live artists, giant props, and enthralling music, all situated within the historic AlUla Old Town.

Apart from these, AlUla visitors can anticipate a variety of other events, such as the Tantora Celebration, Shorfat AlJaddidah, a candlelit concert at Hegra, Swiss Orchestra performances at Maraya, and more.
