Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has revealed plans to invest $100 million in order to further enhance the country’s tourism efforts and aviation strategy. The investment aligns with Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia’s long-term economic development plan.

The announcement was made by Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, the president of GACA, during the 15th International Conference on Air Services Negotiations in Riyadh. The conference, organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is being hosted by GACA and will continue until December 7.

Highlighting the comprehensive nature of the strategy, Al-Duailej explained that the investment will be used to develop and upgrade various sectors within the aviation industry, including Saudi airlines, logistics services, cargo services, and other support services.

By investing in the aviation sector, Saudi Arabia aims to become a prominent player in the global aviation arena. Al-Duailej outlined the strategic objectives, stating that the country is building an integrated airline network with Riyadh and Jeddah as strategic and central hubs. The goal is to establish international connections with 250 destinations by 2030.

The commitment to enhancing the aviation industry was praised by Salvatore Sciacchitano, the President of ICAO, who commended Saudi Arabia’s dedication. Sciacchitano stated that the strategic direction of the Kingdom will contribute to the development and success of countries.

Saleh Al-Jasser, the Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, also emphasized the impact of the civil aviation strategy, which aims not only to enhance transportation but also to foster relationships, facilitate trade, and open doors to Arab tourism.

The $100 million investment announcement serves as a cornerstone in Saudi Arabia’s journey to become a global aviation leader. The financial commitment and strategic initiatives demonstrate the Kingdom’s determination to shape the future of air travel and contribute to the international aviation landscape.
