In a significant move towards medical technological advancement, GE Healthcare is upgrading the facilities of Al-Habib Medical Services Group with cutting-edge digital health solutions. The initiative is set to enhance the standard of care in Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib’s network, which encompasses 13 hospitals and eight medical centers throughout Saudi Arabia.
The collaboration between GE Healthcare and one of the biggest healthcare chains in the region will see the introduction of top-tier imaging systems, diagnostic cardiology tools, and specialized maternal-child healthcare equipment. Two notable ‘smart’ hospitals, West Jeddah Hospital with 330 beds and North Riyadh Hospital with 500 beds, are slated to receive the forefront of these technological upgrades.
The deployment plan includes sophisticated medical equipment such as two MRI scanners, two CT machines, four C-arm systems, a pair of bone mineral density units, and the first PET/CT scanner in the region. These tools are intended to support clinicians and streamline procedures in both new and established Al-Habib Medical Group facilities.
Additionally, GE Healthcare is introducing its extensive range of patient monitoring innovations to the network, including the Portrait Mobile wearable monitor. A total of 80 units will be implemented across eight hospitals, offering teams the ability to monitor patient vitals and health status with enhanced ease.
Representatives from both GE Healthcare and Al-Habib Medical Group have expressed their commitment to improving patient care through this partnership. The collaboration is seen as a strategic step towards realizing Saudi Arabia’s 2030 vision of creating a comprehensive, innovative, and accessible healthcare system for its populace.
This initiative illustrates the power of partnership and innovation in achieving the ambitious healthcare objectives outlined in Saudi Arabia’s developmental agenda for 2030.
